Google Photos introduces AI-powered memes: The new 'Me Meme' feature arrives in the USA
Google Photos is expanding its suite of creative tools with an interesting experimental feature. The new feature called ‘Me Meme’ allows users to transform their photos into fun memes using generative artificial intelligence. According to PANews, this is an interesting way to combine selfies with popular meme culture.
How to create a meme using AI
Users are presented with a simple process. First, they select a pre-made meme template or upload their own reference image for inspiration. Next, they choose a photo – ideally a clear frontal portrait with good lighting, which AI can process more effectively. This way, the system gathers all the necessary information to generate a high-quality meme. Once AI creates the final meme, users can edit the result, generate new variations, save it to their gallery, or share it with friends.
Me Meme in practice: A new creative tool
The ‘Me Meme’ feature is part of a broader range of AI tools available in the Create section of the Google Photos app. The experimental feature is currently being gradually rolled out only to users in America on both major mobile platforms – Android and iOS. Google has not yet confirmed its expansion to other countries, nor is the overall rollout schedule clear.
This initiative shows how Google is integrating artificial intelligence into everyday photographic tools to make them more fun and accessible for mass users.
