US stock market opening hours adjustment: CME and ICE trading will end early on January 19th
On January 19th, due to the U.S. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, the U.S. stock market will be closed for one day, which directly affects the opening times of the global futures markets. Several major exchanges have announced specific trading schedule adjustments, and investors need to pay special attention to this change.
CME Futures Trading Time Adjustment
According to the latest notice, trading of CME’s precious metals futures and U.S. crude oil futures contracts will end early at 03:30 on January 20th, East 8th Time, several hours earlier than usual. At the same time, trading of U.S. Treasury and stock index futures will also end early at 02:00 on January 20th, East 8th Time, which means a tighter trading window for traders relying on these contracts.
ICE Agricultural Products Trading Closure
Trading related to agricultural products under ICE and CBOT will be closed all day. This includes soybean, corn, wheat, and other major commodity futures, which will be unavailable for trading throughout the day. Investors involved in agricultural futures should adjust their trading plans in advance.
Due to the adjustment of U.S. stock market opening times, global traders should complete their position adjustments before January 19th to avoid risks from overnight holdings. It is recommended that investors reconfirm the specific schedules of each exchange before trading, especially for traders crossing different time zones.
