Apple AI talent is once again experiencing a wave of resignations, leading to significant concerns within the industry. This trend reflects ongoing challenges in retaining skilled professionals in the competitive AI sector, and companies are actively seeking solutions to stabilize their teams and continue innovation efforts.
Recently, well-known tech journalist Mark Gurman reported that Apple has lost at least four AI researchers in the past few weeks, along with a Siri executive who has left. These employees have moved to companies like Meta and Google. Over the past few months, Apple has experienced a wave of talent loss, especially in the AI team, and the company’s decision to outsource some technologies to Google may have caused dissatisfaction among internal staff.
It is understood that the recent departures at Apple mainly come from the “Foundation Models” team, which is responsible for developing the underlying technology of the Apple Intelligence platform. Additionally, there was an undisclosed change: Apple executive Stuart Bowers has moved to Google DeepMind. He was one of the highest-level managers responsible for Siri’s business.
