Deep潮 TechFlow News, February 5th, according to official sources, the blockchain underlying protocol project IOTA announced a partnership with the University of Tyside in the UK to apply IOTA TWIN technology on the digital trade testing platform and conduct actual deployments at Tyside Port and Airport, creating faster, smarter, and more transparent infrastructure to accelerate trade development in the UK and unlock billions of pounds in economic value.

It is reported that the digital trade testing platform is one of the UK’s first real environments for testing and deploying digital trade solutions, supported by £3.5 million in funding from the UK government to support early infrastructure development in port-related economic zones.

As a neutral and interoperable infrastructure, TWIN aims to build a blockchain infrastructure connecting the global economy, coordinating data, assets, and identity information. By providing open-source APIs and integrating with existing trade infrastructure, it enables freight forwarders, customs, and supply chain participants to share verified information in real time.

Meanwhile, four trade-related staff members from the UK government have been seconded to the IOTA team to jointly explore how digital tools based on IOTA technology can make trade smoother and more efficient, accelerating the vision of IOTA as the core infrastructure for building the on-chain digital economy era.
