The longest Spring Festival holiday in history is approaching: a list of related stocks
The 2026 Spring Festival holiday will last for 9 days, making it the longest “Spring Festival” period in history. On February 5th, stocks related to the film and television industry showed some movement, with Happiness Blue Ocean rising 11.51%, Hengdian Film & TV and Jinyi Film & TV hitting the daily limit, and Enlight Media up 9%.
Mao Yan Professional Edition shows that as of February 5th, seven films have been scheduled for release during the Spring Festival period, namely “Flying Past Life 3,” “Panda Plan: Tribal Adventure,” “Silent During the Awakening,” “Bears Out and About: Bears Every Year,” “Dartman: Wind Rising in the Desert,” “Star River Dreams,” and “Return: Wolf Pack.” The first six will be released on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 17), and “Return: Wolf Pack” will be re-released on the third day (February 19).
Film information from Mao Yan Professional Edition indicates that multiple listed companies are involved in the production and co-production of these films. The producers of “Flying Past Life 3” include Mao Yan Entertainment, Damai Entertainment, Wanda Film, Bona Film, and six other listed companies. The producers of “Bears Out and About: Bears Every Year” are also numerous, including Huaxinq Fangte, Hengdian Film & TV, China Film, Mao Yan Entertainment, Wanda Film, and others. Overall, Chinese film companies participate the most in production (including Huaxia Film, which holds 14% of China Film), covering all seven films.
In terms of film popularity, as of 3:00 PM on February 5th, Mao Yan Professional Edition shows that “Flying Past Life 3” has 742,000 people interested in watching, ranking first. The previous two films in the series earned 1.728 billion and 3.361 billion yuan at the box office, ranking 49th and 20th on the China film box office list. “Panda Plan: Tribal Adventure” ranks second, with 295,000 interested viewers; its first film earned only 300 million yuan. “Silent During the Awakening” ranks third, with over 240,000 interested viewers. Director Zhang Yimou has directed more than 40 films with a total box office exceeding 14 billion yuan.
According to data from the National Film Administration, the box office for the Spring Festival period from 2021 to 2025 was 7.842 billion, 6.039 billion, 6.765 billion, 8.016 billion, and 9.510 billion yuan respectively. Additionally, the top two films during the 2025 Spring Festival period (only counting data during the holiday) were “Nezha: The Devil’s Child Comes to the Sea” with 4.839 billion and “Detective Chinatown 1900” with 2.278 billion yuan.
