Friends, February 6, 2023, marks the third anniversary of the devastating earthquake. As someone who experienced that earthquake firsthand, my only wish from Allah is that no one ever has to go through that fear and helplessness again. I pray for mercy for those who lost their lives and patience for their loved ones. I also want to add this: As I mentioned, having lived through the earthquake myself, I thank all the kind-hearted people from my hometown who rushed to help from every corner of the country at the first light of that morning, upon hearing the news overnight, on behalf of all the earthquake victims. Lastly, maybe this isn’t the place, and I normally don’t post content that would create a platform for discussing opinions or politics on my page, but during those days, there was no Turkish-Kurdish, no Alevi-Sunni, no Right-Left divide. There was only humanity, unity, and solidarity. I wish that unity and solidarity could always prevail.
