National Foreign Trade Work Conference held in Beijing: Doing everything possible to stabilize foreign trade and making every effort to achieve a good start in building a strong trading nation during the 14th Five-Year Plan

The 2026 National Foreign Trade Work Conference was held in Beijing. The meeting emphasized that 2026 is the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan,” and doing a good job in foreign trade is of great significance. China’s foreign trade development still faces complex and severe situations, with strategic opportunities and risks coexisting, and increasing unpredictable factors. Various levels of commerce authorities should align their thoughts and actions with the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, focus on the “three important” positioning of commerce work, adhere to the dual-driven approach of “policy + activities,” and strive to promote the integration of trade and investment, as well as domestic and foreign trade development. They should do everything possible to stabilize foreign trade, develop new driving forces for foreign trade, promote balanced import and export growth, and make every effort to achieve a good start in building a strong trade nation during the “14th Five-Year Plan.” (Ministry of Commerce)
