Hong Kong stock consumer and dividend sectors demonstrate resilience; public funds are optimistic about structural investment opportunities
On February 5th, the A-shares and Hong Kong stocks showed divergence. The main Hong Kong stock indices surged in the afternoon, closing with gains against the trend. The Hong Kong consumer sector performed notably well, with several related ETFs leading the market in gains. It is worth noting that during the recent volatile adjustments in the Hong Kong stock market, the Hang Seng Tech Index experienced a significant decline. In contrast to the less-than-ideal performance of the overall market, the consumer and dividend sectors in Hong Kong stocks demonstrated strong resilience, with many related funds’ net asset values rising accordingly. Looking ahead, many public fund institutions believe that Hong Kong stocks are still in a global valuation low, and short-term disturbances are unlikely to change the long-term cost-effectiveness of allocation, with a positive outlook on structural investment opportunities.
