The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed a fine of ₹27.38 crore on Intel Corp for engaging in anti-competitive practices related to its India-specific warranty policy for boxed microprocessors. The CCI found the policy to be discriminatory compared to Intel’s policies in other countries, limiting consumer choice and affecting parallel importers. Intel’s policy required warranty requests for its Boxed Micro Processors in India to be entertained only if purchased from an authorized Indian distributor.
