Hunan Expressway's encrypted charging facilities upgrade to smart service areas

This spring festival travel season, self-driving trips have become one of the main modes of transportation, and the demand for new energy vehicle charging has significantly increased. Hunan Expressway has set up 36 charging parking spaces at the Changsha West Service Area, including 8 ultra-fast charging spots with full liquid cooling, with a maximum single-port power of up to 600 kilowatts, far exceeding the efficiency of ordinary charging stations. Traveler Wang Shenghao said that the charging speed is twice as fast as regular charging stations. Fu Siyou, operations manager of Hunan Expressway New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., stated that as charging station technology continues to improve and the number of charging spots increases, most are fast charging and quick turnaround, with no long queues. As of February 9, 29 liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations have been put into operation at Hunan Expressway service areas. Additionally, the service area is equipped with two intelligent mobile charging robots that can be summoned on demand, providing a “station-to-vehicle” service mode. Traveler He Jia said that this was the first time seeing such robots and found them very convenient. The Hunan Expressway Smart Service Area platform utilizes IoT, AI, big data, and other technologies to monitor passenger and vehicle flow in real-time, enabling intelligent scheduling, making services more refined and management more efficient.
