Gelonghui, February 13 — The State Administration of Foreign Exchange released preliminary data on China’s balance of payments for the fourth quarter and the full year of 2025. In the fourth quarter of 2025, China’s current account surplus was 1.7137 trillion yuan, including a goods trade surplus of 2.1043 trillion yuan, a services trade deficit of 284.5 billion yuan, a primary income deficit of 155.2 billion yuan, and a secondary income surplus of 49.1 billion yuan. The capital and financial account (including seasonal net errors and omissions) recorded a deficit of 1.7137 trillion yuan, with direct investment into China remaining a net inflow. In 2025, China’s current account surplus was 5.2427 trillion yuan, and the capital and financial account (including seasonal net errors and omissions for the fourth quarter) recorded a deficit of 5.4217 trillion yuan.
