China's first heavy-duty gas turbine flexible excitation system commissioned

China’s first heavy-duty gas turbine flexible excitation system was successfully put into operation on the 13th in Unit 9F at Huadian Banshan Power Plant, Zhejiang Hangzhou. This is the first time China has applied flexible excitation technology in large main power sources to enhance grid stability. The system can add 200,000 kilowatts of power supply capacity during peak electricity usage periods, meeting the electricity demand of approximately 30,000 more households under extreme peak conditions.
