How the fuck did we go from "Trump will send crypto to the moon" to the worst sentiment I've ever seen?

I'm a 2nd cycler. Roundtripped 7 figures to 5 figures. TWICE. That year alone. Did the same in the previous cycle. Writing this near the Trump inauguration anniversary. The flashbacks are real.
I got PTSD from cycle 1. Tried to be objective this time. But "objective" slowly morphed into the same FOMO as before — just on different coins, different narratives. This time it was political full adoption. "If not now, never."
The setup looked perfect. Gensler out. Friendlier SEC. David Sacks. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve talks. I positioned. I waited. And then TRUMP dropped.
I made 30x in 72 hours. Something unprecedented. Probably will never happen to me again in my life. For a moment, it felt like we were ALL going to make it. Pure euphoria.
Then Melania dropped.
I knew instantly: the second plane just hit the tower. This wasn't adoption — this was extraction at industrial scale. Onchain trust died that day.
And yet... I didn't fully de-risk. I listened to idiots being more bullish than ever. Even when I KNEW it was over, I rotated into other coins instead of stepping back. Roundtripped again. Not on Trump/Melania — on the rotation plays that followed.
Looking back now: TRUMP coin should've been the wake-up call, not the victory lap. And it wasn't just onchain crime. Tariffs. Macro chaos. Global uncertainty. All roads led back to Trump. Our "savior" became the chaos engine.
The math is brutal:
• Trump family extracted hundreds of millions
• Retail destroyed
• BTC lower than inauguration day
• Sentiment: rock bottom
• My portfolio: rebuilding. Again.
So what's the hopium after all this?
I still believe crypto is the future of finance. Code is the native language of AI agents. Blockchain is their native financial infrastructure. We're entering a new economy — and crypto is the foundation.
We'll bounce back. We always do. New highs will come. The cycle will turn.
But this time? I'm not just going to make money. I'm going to KEEP it.
