Venezuela's Acting President Signs and Enacts Amnesty Law
On February 19th local time, Venezuelan Acting President Rodriguez signed and issued the Democratic Coexistence Amnesty Law. Earlier that day, the law was unanimously approved in the second reading by the National Assembly (parliament) of Venezuela. On January 30th, Rodriguez announced that the Venezuelan government had decided to promote a comprehensive amnesty law to address political violence-related incidents since 1999. (CCTV News)
