Should you turn a blind eye and buy commemorative coins at a negative premium?
During the New Year, I happened to come across a commemorative coin company,
99.99% purity, selling for HKD 16,200. Currently, the gold price in New York is $5,130 per ounce, and the half-ounce is $2,565, which is approximately HKD 19,878, a difference of over HKD 3,600.
I have reserved one piece. Should I buy it blindly and sell it later?
The only possible reason I can think of is that gold prices have risen too rapidly, and this commemorative coin hasn’t had time to update its price.
