Iran announces it will no longer launch missiles with warheads weighing less than one ton, Middle East risk premium could push up oil prices

On March 9, Majid Mousavi, commander of the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, stated that Iran will no longer launch missiles with warheads weighing less than 1 ton in the future, and subsequent strikes will mainly use heavy warhead missiles.
This statement is seen as a signal of Iran raising its military deterrence level. Analysts believe that if conflicts in the Middle East escalate and threaten key energy routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, the global crude oil market will quickly incorporate geopolitical risk premiums, and oil prices may experience short-term upward fluctuations.
