You definitely need to know a friend who can fix computers.

A idle MacBook had a swollen battery. I originally thought it was just a matter of replacing the battery.

The technician took a look: battery replacement, 580.

After opening it up, he said the cable was damaged, the keyboard and trackpad weren't working, cable replacement, plus 100 more.

After replacing the cable, it still wasn't working.

The technician gave another diagnosis: the motherboard also has a problem, plus 580 more.

In the end, the computer was fixed.

As for whether the problems were discovered step by step or fabricated step by step, I can't say for sure.
