Donald Trump has instructed the Pentagon to postpone strikes on Iranian power plants for five days.

"I am pleased to report that the United States and Iran have held very good and productive discussions over the past two days regarding a complete and unconditional cessation of our military actions in the Middle East. Based on the content and tone of these deep, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have directed the Department of War to postpone any military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period, pending the success of these ongoing meetings and discussions," he wrote.
