Umbra Launches Privacy Wallet Powered by Arcium’s Encrypted Engine - Crypto Economy
TL;DR:
Umbra, the privacy wallet built on Arcium‘s encrypted execution infrastructure, has just launched on Solana. The release enables private transfers, encrypted swaps, complemented by a suite of regulatory compliance tools aimed at traders, businesses, and institutions seeking to protect their onchain financial activity.
This launch will significantly expand its accessibility well beyond the initial deployment on the private mainnet that followed Arcium’s Mainnet Alpha debut in February 2026. At that stage, the protocol introduced a privacy financial layer for Solana with limited user onboarding.

Encrypted Finance at the Heart of Solana
The core problem Umbra aims to solve is a structural limitation of public blockchains: the default visibility of every transaction’s data. Existing solutions relied on obfuscation mechanisms, intermediaries, or zero-knowledge proof systems that don’t always adapt to multi-party operations. Arcium, by contrast, uses trustless encrypted execution, meaning no individual actor can access the underlying data during processing.
The wallet allows the sender, recipient, and amount to be fully concealed in every transfer, as well as executing swaps without revealing the volume or intent of the operation. It also integrates a compliance layer featuring viewing keys, risk filters, and geographic blocking, seeking to reconcile privacy with all types of regulatory requirements.

Umbra Will Welcome More Projects Within a Few Weeks
Additionally, Umbra published its SDK, a zero-knowledge-based anonymity architecture that extends Arcium’s infrastructure to developers building applications on Solana. The team announced that several projects and integrations are expected in the coming weeks.
“Finance is deeply personal, yet onchain finance has always been public by default,” said the wallet’s co-founder known as “Kru.” “Every move is public, permanent, and traceable by anyone Umbra is the first system that changes that.”
Yannik Schrade, CEO of Arcium, stated that “the conversation around privacy has never been more intense, and the technology is finally ready.” The demand for this type of solution strongly supports his assessment: in October 2025, Umbra received over $150 million through MetaDAO in one of the largest capital raises ever recorded on that platform.
