Japan's Z Generation Has the Highest Vigilance Against Crypto Scams, Half of Respondents Have Never Invested in Cryptocurrency



Shen Chao TechFlow News, April 2nd, according to BeInCrypto, a survey conducted by Tokyo consulting firm Clabo in February 2026 with 1,486 Japanese respondents shows that Japan's Z Generation is much more alert to social media scams in the cryptocurrency space than other generations, with fake giveaways and suspicious promotions being their main concerns; older groups are more skeptical due to "not understanding how cryptocurrencies work."

The survey also found that half of the respondents have never invested in cryptocurrencies, with only 33.7% currently holding digital assets. Millennials have the highest investment participation. In terms of information sources, YouTube accounts for 27%, making it the top platform for Japanese users to make crypto investment decisions.
