#MarchNonfarmPayrollsIncoming

Today is Good Friday.
Equity markets are closed. Bond markets are closed. Crypto is open.
That is what makes this NFP release unusually loud for this space.
The number came in at 178,000 — nearly 3x the 59,000 consensus.
Unemployment edged down to 4.3%.
After February’s 92,000 job loss and expectations drifting toward near-recession levels, this is a clean upside surprise.
On paper, it should feel like good news.
It doesn’t — not quite.
BTC is trading around $66,941, up less than 0.3% on the day.
That is not a relief rally. That is a market processing implications.
Because in the current environment — tariff tensions and Iran-related geopolitical risk — a strong labor print gives the Fed exactly what it needs to stay patient.
Rate cuts get pushed further out.
Liquidity remains tight.
The pivot crypto has been waiting for becomes harder to justify.
The tension here is structural.
This report reflects March hiring. It does not yet capture the downstream effects of recent tariff escalations or geopolitical uncertainty on business decisions and employment trends.
That is why economists are already framing this as a “hiring bump” rather than a sustained trend.
And that framing matters — it tells you how cautiously markets are treating this data as a forward signal.
ETH, at $2,055, is slightly weaker than BTC.
The divergence is small, but consistent.
In uncertain macro conditions, capital prioritizes the most liquid asset first.
The Fear & Greed Index remains at 9 — extreme fear.
A strong jobs print did not move it.
Because extreme sentiment does not shift on a single data release — it shifts when the broader macro narrative changes.
And one data point, from a month already behind us, is not enough.
What this means for the weekend:
Traditional markets will react on Monday.
Until then, crypto is the only venue for price discovery.
So far, the market’s response has been clear —
not panic, not optimism.
Just cautious absorption.
