Medieval alchemists travel through 2026 — I’ve found the true “Philosopher’s Stone”

I am Hermes, born in Paris in 1320. All my life, I pursued the “Philosopher’s Stone” — a magical substance that can turn lead into gold. In 1360, during a failed experiment, I accidentally traveled to April 2026.

First encounter with Bitcoin
When I woke up, I was lying in front of a digital hall called “Gate.io.” Strange numbers flickered on the screen: BTC 66,800 USD. I asked a passerby, “Is this the price of gold?” He laughed: “No, this is Bitcoin, digital gold.” I spent the entire day figuring out the blockchain. Turns out, the Philosopher’s Stone really exists — it’s called a private key, and it can turn code into wealth.

My “alchemical” operation
I exchanged the few medieval gold coins I had on me (which have been verified as artifacts) for 0.1 BTC. Then I found that posting on Gate Square lets you earn red envelopes. Every day, I wrote Latin poems and attached Bitcoin market analysis. No one could understand them, but everyone thought they were mysterious. Within a week, my posts got 500 likes, and the red envelopes totaled 8U.

Advice for people in the modern era
I observed your world: the Federal Reserve, tariffs, and geopolitical conflicts. In essence, it’s no different from the 14th century — kings debase the coinage, and merchants hoard gold and silver. And Bitcoin is the “Philosopher’s Stone” that no king can control. It won’t turn lead into gold, but it can turn today’s labor into tomorrow’s freedom. Before the April challenge ends, I will exchange all the red envelopes for BTC, then go back to 1360 with the private key. Five hundred years later, my descendants will discover that the alchemist left behind not gold, but a string of code that will save the family.
