Unknown user burned 500 ethers at $1.37 million
The attention of the crypto community was drawn to a strange transaction, in which 500 ethers worth almost $1.37 million were sent to a burn address.
The transaction was initiated from the address '0x1a1…..6813' and sent to the Ethereum burn address '0x000…0000', which means irreversible loss of funds. Despite the significant amount of the transfer, the sender paid a small transaction fee of only 0.00001797 ETH (around $0.05).
Further research has shown that this was not the only major transaction from this wallet. Previously, 591 ETH was transferred from it to a known address for WikiLeaks donations and 700 ETH to an address for donations to Ukraine.
Interestingly, in addition to a large number of altcoins, the translation contained an encrypted message in Chinese.
