Musk: Grok AI has taken over X content recommendations, promoting new features to replace keyword search.

In the latest episode of the “All-In Podcast” on November 1, Musk elaborated on recent issues related to the algorithm adjustments of Twitter (X), including the overwhelming delivery of relevant content when users interact with X, a major bug causing content display errors, and how Grok takes over the algorithm and reads all content on X to create a new ecosystem of “personalized AI distribution.”

When interacting, you are bombarded with content, as it turns out the Algorithm gain is set too high.

At the beginning of the program, the host described the recent situation of using X. As long as you like, reply to, or save a certain type of post, the system will flood you with a large amount of similar content. Musk confirmed this, stating that he indeed found a significant Bug, which means that even if you follow someone, you may not see their posts.

Musk explained that the interaction weight of the X Algorithm was previously set too high. This means that whenever a user took any action, the system would determine that the user was highly interested in that topic, resulting in content being bombarded repeatedly. However, Musk stated that this issue has now been fixed.

Fixing bugs and adjusting the interaction mechanism, a curated tracking page will be launched.

Musk then stated that the mechanism for adjusting interaction weights has now been recalibrated. He revealed that the tracking page will be updated next, adding a version where content is automatically selected and organized by Grok:

“Sometimes the accounts you follow post too much content, and the entire page gets flooded. We will let Grok help you pick out the most interesting posts from your friends and create a curated page.”

Users can not only browse sorted by time but also choose key content selected by AI, making the dynamic wall more organized.

Grok takes over content recommendations, reading 100 million posts on X every day.

When talking about the progress of Grok, Musk revealed that Grok is now “understanding” all the content on X every day. He pointed out that X has about 100 million posts daily, primarily in English. Grok currently reads 10 million posts first, then expands to all posts on X for semantic understanding and classification, and then selects the content that best matches users' interests for recommendations.

He estimates that this scale of computation will require about 50,000 H100 GPUs to support the computational power needed for Grok.

Elon Musk further introduced Grok's new feature “Semantic Search” (Semantic Search). In the future, users will be able to ask questions directly in natural language, and the AI will search the entire site for content based on semantics, whether it's text, images, or videos, all can be organized together.

Musk stated that this will replace past keyword searches, making the query method more natural and the results more precise.

Grok deeply integrates X, with AI analysis keys for each post.

The host mentioned that the Grok icon appears next to each post in the new interface, and clicking it will request AI analysis. Musk confirmed that this design has been fully launched.

“Now almost every post has a Grok button next to it, which you can click to help you research, verify, and even dig deeper.”

He stated that this will make X the information platform closest to the truth on Earth, allowing users to ask AI for assistance in determining the authenticity of content or to investigate deeper background information.
