ECB Vice President Guindos: Inflation returns to target But wages remain a risk

European Central Bank Vice President Luis de Guindos reiterated that inflation is returning to the 2% target, but wage pressures still pose a risk. Speaking in Barcelona on Thursday evening, Guindos said wages were rising by about 5 percent, while limited productivity could push consumer prices back up. Like many of his colleagues, Guindos also said that the ECB would be in a better position to assess the likelihood of a rate cut in June after the release of key data on the level of wages in the eurozone.
