On June 19th, Jinshi Data reported that since the start of the flood season this year, the Pearl River Basin has experienced 9 numbered floods, exceeding the number in 2022 and setting a record for the most numbered floods since 1998. Moreover, all four major rivers in the basin have experienced numbered floods again after 2006, including 2 for Xijiang River, 2 for Beijiang River, 1 for Dongjiang River, and 4 for Hanjiang River. On April 7th, the first numbered flood of Beijiang River and Hanjiang River was the earliest annual numbered flood since 1998. On April 20th, the second numbered flood of Beijiang River was the earliest large-scale flood since 1998. Hanjiang River has experienced 4 numbered floods, the most in its history.
