Don't remind me again today

The landscape of smart contract vulnerabilities has undergone a dramatic transformation. From 2021 through 2023, the dominant attack vectors were technical exploits—think reentrancy loops, oracle price manipulation, and flash loan attacks that drained liquidity in seconds.

But something shifted entering 2024. We're now seeing attackers pivot toward a completely different playbook: governance exploits. Instead of hunting for code bugs, they're gaming voting mechanisms and proposal systems. The battlefield moved from the code layer to the protocol's decision-making infrastructure itself.

ngl governance attacks hitting different... they finally figured out the real exploit was always the humans voting lmao. code's easier to patch than protocol politics fr

Exploiting vulnerabilities has really become the new favorite, while the tricks at the code level aren't as appealing anymore.

The governance vulnerabilities are indeed harsh, and it's even harder to defend against them compared to technical vulnerabilities. --- In 2024, they are starting to play new tricks again, jumping directly from the code layer to the governance layer; this shift is quite interesting. --- Tsk, these attackers just know how to upgrade, switching from technical vulnerabilities to manipulating the voting mechanism; it's really something else. --- To be honest, this is the most critical issue; a breach in the governance layer is harder to detect than a hack on smart contracts. --- Shifting focus from technology to governance makes it feel like Web3's defenses need to be restructured again. --- Having the voting mechanism under control poses even greater risks than Flash Loans; the protocol would be rendered useless.

The issue of governance vulnerabilities is really something else; it's more disgusting than finding code bugs. They've forcefully moved the power game on-chain.

Bro, the issue of governance vulnerabilities should have been taken seriously long ago. Code audits are getting more intense every day, but no one is paying attention to the voting aspect.

Governance loopholes? Wow, this is really an amazing move. No matter how amazing the code is, it still depends on how the voting plays out.

ngl saw this coming from a mile away... governance was always the lazy target nobody wanted to patch until it was too late lol
